From Weather-Dependent to Controllable: EAST Energy Storage Supports Datang Jingtai Wind Project
October 15, 2026

Wind power is clean but variable. As renewables scale, improving grid friendliness is critical. The Datang Jingtai 30MW distributed wind project has been successfully grid-connected, with EAST providing a 3MW/6MWh centralized liquid-cooled energy storage system. The “distributed wind + storage” model enhances flexibility and supports renewable integration in Northwest China.

Smoothing Wind Output
Storage charges when wind output is high and discharges when low, reducing fluctuations and improving station stability—turning wind from random and variable into flexible and grid-friendly.

Reliable in Harsh Environments
Located near the Tengger Desert, the project faces temperature extremes and sandstorms. EAST’s liquid-cooled system keeps cell temperature difference within 3°C, while IP65 protection and C5 anti-corrosion ensure long-term reliability.

From Grid Support to Energy Operation
Storage is evolving from supporting equipment to a value asset. It can smooth output, improve consumption, reduce power deviation, and participate in ancillary services and power trading.

Proven Wind+Storage Experience
EAST has deployed storage across multiple wind projects, including 125MW/500MWh in Xinjiang, 15MW/60MWh in Gansu Zhangye, and 10MW/20MWh in Xinjiang Changji. With its 4S full-stack system—PCS, BMS, EMS, PMS—EAST continues to advance wind-storage integration.

From weather-dependent generation to controllable energy, EAST helps renewables operate more stably and efficiently.
