1.4GWh! EAST Energy Storage Facilitates Full-Capacity Grid Connection of Northwest China's Largest Independent Energy Storage Power Station

Recently, the 1000MW/4000MWh independent new energy storage demonstration project, a supporting facility for the Huadian Urumqi photovoltaic base in Xinjiang, achieved full-capacity grid connection. This marks the official operation of the largest independent energy storage power station in Xinjiang and one of the foremost in Northwest China, setting a milestone benchmark for the construction of Xinjiang's new-type power system.

As a core energy storage system supplier, EAST has cumulatively provided 1.4GWh of advanced energy storage equipment for this project. The main system employed is the rigorously environment-tested 6.7MW/26.8MWh centralized liquid-cooled energy storage system. In the extreme environment of the northern desert in Midong District, Urumqi, the EAST energy storage solution has demonstrated exceptional adaptability and reliability.
Empowering the Core Support of the New-Type Power System
This project is a key demonstration project in Xinjiang's new energy storage field and an important part of the national "14th Five-Year Plan" layout to promote high-quality development of new energy. After operation, the project will fully leverage the core functions of the energy storage system—"peak shaving and valley filling, frequency and peak regulation"—effectively enhancing the regional grid's capacity to absorb new energy. It will provide solid support for the high-quality development of Xinjiang's new energy industry and the construction of a new-type power system.
